Today I want to review Sennheiser HD 515 headphones. [Kindly please check Sennheiser HD515 Dynamic Stereo Sound Audiophile 500 Series Headphones official store at Amazon]. I bought these headphones around two months ago and instead of writing a full review immediately after the purchase I’ve decided to do some proper testing to see how well do they perform and more importantly to see whether they are durable.
I’ll be honest: I am not a technical guy, I am not a professional DJ or audio producer, which means that when I am buying new headphones the only factors that I am concerned about are sound quality, comfortability and durability.
Before I bought Sennheiser HD 515 headphones I previously owned Steelseries Siberia V1 and I really loved them. I had Siberia headphones for about two or three years, but eventually the plug broke. Instead of trying to fix it up I’ve decided to treat myself and buy something new.
I’ve spent few hours reading about headphones and then I start to analyze what brands like Philips, Sony, Koss and Sennheiser has to offer.
I don’t know why, but at least under the $100 range there weren’t a lot of good options and after noticing Sennheiser name mentioned a lot of times on various forums I’ve decided to check them out.
I bought these headphones off Amazon and before my purchase I’ve noticed how many positive reviews did these headphones have. I know that the people who review Amazon products aren’t the most trustworthy, but both the amount of reviews and more importantly the rating was impressive.

Anyway,
Once I got Sennheiser HD 515 headphones delivered I was immediately impressed with the size. Initially I thought that because of size these headphones will make my head feel tired after few hours of gaming, but I was wrong.
I’ve mentioned earlier that I’ve owned Steelseries Siberia V1 headphones and I really loved them. The sound quality was great and more importantly they were very comfortable, and I because of this I thought that nothing could be compared to them.
I guess I was wrong.
Not only Sennheiser HD 515 headphones are cheaper – they performed just as great.
Sound:
I listen to a lot of music; from drum and bass to punk rock and these headphones had performed really well. I was afraid that a lot of the headphones that are priced under $100 haven’t got a good bass, but HD 515 performed well. It doesn’t matter whether I was listening to D’n’B or Rock – the sound quality of Sennheiser HD 515 was amazing.
I also play video games, anywhere from one to three hours per day and in some of the games that I play (Counter Strike, Call of Duty) – sound is really important, because you need to pick up every little sound ingame to be able to hear your enemies. The headphones perforemd really well too.
From my own experience I can tell that it doesn’t matter whether you’re into gaming or music (or both) – you’ll love Sennheiser HD 515.
Alright
Now let’s talk about comfortability. I am writing this review at 12:40 AM and I was wearing this headphones for about three hours and my head isn’t tired. I can’t feel them on my head.
There’s this neat little mechanism that allow you to adjust the size of the headphones depending on the size of your head.
Another good thing about these headphones is that they don’t feel cheap in your hands. I had an opportunity to use some Sony and Philips under $100 range headphones and some of the headphones felt that they could break any minute in your hands. This isn’t the case with Sennheiser HD 515.
There is for sure, new model you can consider, Sennheiserdhd 418 Headphones.
